This pattern is actually as easy to knit as it looks. You just have to be extra careful that you don’t drop all the stitches when you knit the “cage”-part.

What a wonderful pattern! I probably wouldn’t knit the jacket that contained it but I can see it in a different kind of sweater or something like it.
